Full Name: Eowyn Maia DeMarko Age: 31 Gender: Femme. Date of Birth: June 12, 1974 Tainted? Yesh. Ability: Vitakinesis [the biokinetic ability to mentally heal or rejuvenate damaged or aged bodily tissue on a cellular level. In other words, a healer.] Beliefs: While I do believe everyone should live in peace, get along... all that jazz. I know it won't happen. I've accepted that. It tore my family apart, and I thought we were close. In a way I love that I am tainted, but I am still kind of bitter about it. No one would ever know though. Not even Laertes really knows the extent of how much I can hate the fact that I am tainted. I don't hide the fact that I am though. Besides, with two kids, Vitakinesis is really helpful.

Eyes: Eowyn's eyes are a light green. They are almond shaped and about average size. They show off just about everything about her presonality. There isn't anything she can hide in them. If she's angry, happy, sad... whatever. Everyone can tell. Hair: The woman's hair is long and wavy; a golden blonde, in color. She never really has much time to do anything with it. After having two kids, it is more than likely in a ponytail at all times. Height: 5.6 Weight: 120lbs. She wears it well however, always looking healthy. Distinguishing Features: Nothing really. She doesn't have any scars, or weird disfiguring birthmarks. She's just plain. Pretty, but plain. Other: Eowyn has always been pretty, though she doesn't seem as if she thinks that. She's lean and pretty tan. Her features are slim and she usually carried a broad smile. After getting married and having two children, she doesn't find much time to fuss over her appearance. Make-up has been replaced with diapers, and jewelry with plastic toys. She wouldn't trade it however. Most often she can be seen in a pair of comfortable jeans or sweatpants and a t-shirt running around the house.

Likes: + Laertes + Teddy + Ande + The Ocean + Books + Quiet Time or Nap Time + Spending Time with her Children + Music + Piano + Dancing + Animals + Being Outdoors Dislikes: - Sniffles - Arrogance - Summer Heat - No Sleep - Fighting - Jelly Beans - Taking Two Kids to the Grocery Store The Good Points: Eowyn is an incredibly good listener. She tries whatever she can to help people in need, even if it means just sitting there for a while. She's decent at giving advice, though not everything she suggests works out perfectly. She's a generally happy person, she tried not to let anything really get her down. She has an easy time seeing the small miracles in life. She takes joy in the smallest things, because she's realized that waiting for the big stuff sometimes is just too depressing. She's a lover, not a fighter. But she also realizes that sometimes you have to fight, cause if you don't who will. She is generally very fair, and rational. The Bad Points: She's very stubborn, not willing to change her mind when she finally makes it up. And she isn't quick to make decisions. It takes her a while to decide exactly what she wants. While being fair, some things can still just set her off, and she can have a pretty bad temper. She generally can hold a grudge for a long time. People who slighted her in school would still get some kind of glare if she passed them on the street. Habits: With the exception of learning to get up early, and her natural ability to heal just about anything, Eowyn doesn't have any habits. Possessions/Obsessions/Other: Besides being totally into her family, Eowyn has a passion for music. Listining to and creating it. She loves to play the piano. She started learning when she was a little girl and just kept up the practice as she began to get older.

Place of Birth: Sanglignee, France Family: Father: Edward Silver [73] Mother: Jennica Silver [68] Sister: Agatha Silver [42] Sister: Bernice Silver [35] Husband: Laertes Justin DeMarko [32] Son: Theodore Alexander DeMarko [3] Daughter: Alexandrea Marie DeMarko [18 mo] "puppy": Jaq [9] mutt. Brother-In-Law: Constantine DeMarko Sister-In-Law Sharon DeMarko History: Born in 1974, Eowyn Maia Silver was the third and final child to her parents. While she had two older sisters, she felt a much closer bond to Bernice, probably because Agatha was eleven year older than her, as apposed to Bernice’s four.
When she was old enough to understand them, she began listening to the stories of the Tainted Ones. She rarely heard good stories, mainly coming from her mother. Her father would fill her head of all the bad things they had done to people. Of ones that couldn’t control what they had been given and had cause hurt to others. It continued like this for many years, Eowyn too thought that the Tainted were some kind of freaks. After all, no one in her family had been born with this deformity.
When she was four, she went off to preschool. It was a grand time for her, she loves going to school. It was fun for her to get out of the house and play with the other children, she also loved to learn. A year later she started kindergarten. She learned her ABCs quickly and tried learning to read as fast as her little mind would take her.
It was also in kindergarten that she met Laertes. The two became fast friends, and could often be found playing together on the playground. As she went through school she tended to excel in mathematics and history. She also had a love for music of all forms. When she was seven she started to learn to play the piano, something that she kept up as she grew older. She also started to sing in the school choir when she was a mere 14. She earned a few solos, but usually felt more comfortable harmonizing with the group.
All throughout her school years she stayed friends with the little boy she had met in kindergarten. As they grew up they only became closer. Though he never passed into that friends only zone so many after him had. She didn’t realize why until she was about 15 when her feelings for the boy began to change. She came to see that she had liked him for a while, and when she finally had the guts to admit it, she saw that he felt the same way about her. Soon after they became an official couple, and the inseparable pair became even closer.
At the age of sixteen, the two finally admitted to themselves and each other that they were in love. Eowyn could already see the wedding bells, and to two growing old together, not remembering each other’s names, but still being hopelessly in love. A bit idealistic, but she didn’t care one bit. It was also about that time that he started calling her Maia. She had always liked her middle name, though she was sure of why he made the switch. Maybe it was because he wanted to call her something that no one else did.
It was also at the age of sixteen that Eowyn first found out she was one of them, the Tainted. A few days after her sixteenth birthday, she was taking the car out for a joyride. She had a few of her girlfriends in the car with her, and they were heading down a winding road in the country. Somehow she had lost control and ended up planting the thing into a thick tree. When the paramedics arrived they found almost everything they had been expecting, a smashed up car, three teenage girls with various bruises and cuts, and a very shaken up sixteen year old girl who looked to be perfectly fine except for a white spot on her forehead.
The car had been completely totally, and there was even some blood in the drivers seat, and on the steering wheel. When trying to determine exactly how the blood had gotten there, they discovered that Eowyn had hit her head into the steering wheel. Directly after the accident however, she wasn’t sore, and there wasn’t a cut mark on her face to be found, or anywhere on her body for that matter. Her ‘power’, vitokinesis, in it’s untrained state had completely healed her body except for the small scar that was left on her forehead. The wound had been large, and it wasn’t prepared to completely heal it.
Once her parents found out about the ordeal, they though it was some kind of a miracle. They had always had unfavorable feelings towards the Tainted, so to think that their daughter could be one of... them was indeed not an option. Eowyn had her doubts though, and began trying to find out as much as she could about the various powers that the Tainted could have. She hid this from her family, of course. She didn’t want them to know unless she was absolutely certain. The one thing that she was certain of was that her family would accept her.
That was also one of the things that she had been completely wrong about. When Eowyn finally confirmed what she had believed to be true, she felt no reservations about telling her family. She sat them all down in the living room one day and just ... spilled the beans. Her father was the first to react, an angry look coming over his face. He didn’t say anything however. In fact, none of them actually said anything. Her mother and her oldest sister looked at her as if she were some kind of disgusting monster. Like they didn’t know whether to grab their pitchforks and kill her or simply run away. Beatrice was the most heart wrenching of the family, she looked shocked, hurt. How could her sister be some kind of... she didn’t even know.
After that day, her family rarely talked to her. It was like she was a guest in the home, a very unwelcome guest. She was scared to tell anyone else about what she could do in case they acted the same way. Beatrice still talked to her, but it was different. It was almost like she was scared of her somehow. Eowyn was torn inside, wishing she had never discovered anything about what was going on in her body. If she hadn’t pushed finding out, she would still have a happy family. How was she ever going to survive without a family?
A few months later, Eowyn finally worked up the courage to tell the one person she didn’t think would turn her away. She went to her best friend, her boyfriend. She told him about the car accident, and about the fact that she hadn’t actually gotten hurt in the whole ordeal. He seemed to actually understand, and it was then that he took her to his family and really introduced them. Of course she had met them before, His brother and sister were in the same school, and his parents were there when she would come over to spend time with them. She had never know that they were all tainted however.
After finding out that she was like someone else she knew, the DeMarko family became her family. She spent most of her time at their home as opposed to her own. It was a hard decision to make, but why would she want to go where she was treated as an outsider, and now as if she were barely there.
After graduating school at seventeen, Eowyn went out and tried to find a job of her own. All she could find was a waitress job at some restaurant in town, but it made enough for what she needed. She was sure that soon enough her and Laertes would be married anyway and she wouldn’t have to worry about anything. He would take care of her.
That never did happen though, and two years later the DeMarko family was hit with a crushing blow. Charles DeMarko had passed away. Eowyn too took the news quite badly. Though the person who seemed to take the hit the worst was Laertes, and he soon skipped town. He claimed it was to go off and finish his schooling, he wanted to become a teacher. Eowyn however took that blow harder than the first. Dealing with one loss, and now the person she needed to most was gone as well.
Soon after he left, Eowyn fell into a depression. She didn’t know what to do with herself. It wasn’t until one day that she had a chance run in with Bernice that she realized she needed to turn her life around. So she tried, hard. She got a crappy apartment in the bad part of town, the only thing she could really afford, and continued to work at the restaurant. She also secured another job working as a secretary for the school.
During this time she also started training herself on her powers. She found as many books and references as she could about harnessing vitokinesis and began to practice. Small things at first, just basic first aid. But she soon was able to heal others, and heal bigger and bigger hurts.
About a year after Laertes left, Eowyn was finally doing all right. She was moving on with her life, she was happy. For the most part. She could sleep through the nights, and she realized that Laertes was not going to come back for her like she had spent so long wishing he would. Of course that didn’t stop her from hoping.
It was then, when she was finally making sense of life again, that she met someone new. She was hesitant at first, but the man seemed to grow on her quickly. He wasn’t tainted like she was, but he was a lot more accepting than her parents had ever been. She still kept her secret however. Being tainted had only caused her emotional grief, and she wasn’t about to risk that again.
A year later the two were happily in love, and moved in together. She also finally got to quit her job at the school. She met his family, and they adored her. He well, hadn’t met her family and she doubted he ever would. He accepted this fact though, and didn’t hold it against her. Another year later, they decided that it was time to add on to their little family, though not in the way you would think. His older sister’s dog had had a litter of puppies, and decided to give one of the rascals to the couple. Eowyn soon named him Jaq, and it was obvious that it was ‘her’ dog.
The two continued on like this for a bit more time, when Eowyn world rocked once more. It came in the form of a five foot nine, brown haired, blue-eyed man coming back into her life. His confessions of still loving her and wanting to be with her, put Eowyn in a very difficult position. Should she stay with the man that had been loyal to her for the past three years, or did she take a chance on an old flame.
In the end the decision seemed a plain as day. She let the man she had been with down, and returned to the arms of her first love, her true love. She did keep the dog though. Jaq and Laertes usually get along quite well, though there are times when Eowyn notices that there may be a little bit of hostility between the two. Mainly because Jaq had become so protective of his owner.
Not too long after his return, Laertes and Eowyn were married. It was one of the happiest days of her life, and the saddest. She was now officially part of a family, someone that would be with her the rest of her life. It was also then that she came to realize how much she missed her actual family, and that they would never be the same again.
After they were married, Eowyn was officially welcomed into the family, well... actually just by Sharon. Constantine and Eowyn had never really gotten along, and the woman never could figure out why. She got along with Sharon quite well however, and enjoyed her company whenever they would get a chance to see each other. Constantine eventually did warm up to his brother’s wife as well, and now the two are close.
When Eowyn turned twenty-seven, Laertes decided to take her on a mini-vacation. They traveled up to a mountain that had cabins for rent, and stayed a weekend. Unfortunately the weekend was an utter disaster. The cabin had bugs, there was no running water to be found in about a ten mile radius, and both of them got extremely sunburnt. But despite that, they did have a lovely weekend. They stayed inside a lot, huddling on the bed underneath the covers trying to hide from the insects. Took baths outside and remembered not to use the toilet unless necessary. There is only so much comfort from a hole in the ground you know. But despite all the bad, one good thing did come out of it nine months later. It was also at this time that Eowyn quit her job to be a stay-at-home mom.
March 15th, 2004 Theodore Alexander DeMarko was brought into the world after much labor and pain. If you ask his mother though, he was completely worth it. Seven pounds and nine ounce of pure joy. He was a healthy baby, and rarely cried. Still doesn’t. He has sandy brown hair and some of the clearest blue eyes you will ever see. He loves running around and playing, and is just about potty trained. He is incredibly outgoing and loves to talk. Well, say what he can that is. He loves to tell people how old he is, and that his sister is only one.
Not too long after Theo’s birth, about six months, Bernice came to visit her sister. It was a bit awkward at first, but soon the two sister were getting along... almost like old times. They still loved each other, and knew that they had been missing that special something that they had growing up. After the visit, each of them promised to call or visit more often, which both have been keeping their promise.
One late June evening, the DeMarko family welcomed another little bundle into the family. Alexandrea Marie DeMarko was born on June 21st 2006. This time it didn’t take quite so much labor, or quite so much pain, one thing that Eowyn was extremely grateful for. She also felt that it was completely worth it as soon as she took a look into the small girl’s deep green eyes. She looked like her mother, though had some of Laertes features. But with the blonde hair and green eyes it wasn’t hard to tell just whose daughter she was. Ande is a lot quieter than Theo, though that just may be because she hasn’t learned to talk. She loves discovering the world around her, and tends to be shy around people. She also loves crawling around the house, and is working quite adamantly at standing up all by herself.

RP Sample: The small click of the closing door was lost on the woman as she had fallen into a deeper sleep on the couch. It was a nice sleep, dreamless, it gave her the rest she had been looking for. Though it hadn't been that long, she would wake up with a little bit more energy than she had started the day with. Suddenly Maia felt something brush against her cheek. Her eyes popped open and she bolted upright grabbing the baby monitor she had placed next to her. "I'm awake, I'm awake!" she exclaimed, a little too loudly. She cringed slightly, wondering if she had now awoken the dozing children. She listened intently to the monitor, hoping not to hear a sound. After a few moments she finally let out the breath that she hadn't known she was holding. Still napping, she had gotten lucky that time. Looking at her watch, she tried to figure out just how long she had been out. Not too long, the kids would probably sleep for another half hour or so. Sweet release.
Wondering now what had woken her up, she finally looked to the cause of her disturbance. Laertes. He was home again early. She wondered what had brought him back, though wasn't allowing herself to care just yet. Getting up from the couch she walked over to him and threw her arms around his neck. He was home, her knight in shining armor. He would be the one to play with the kids when they woke up and she could cook the meal. Not a complete break, but it was either deal with the food, or getting hair pulled and trying to make sure Theo didn't do anything nasty to his sister... again. After a few moments just standing in his arms, she silently took the vase of roses. She had a large smile on her face, she loved that he still did things like that after it had been so long. Well, eight years wasn't forever, but most couples couldn't be found to last that long and still be as much in love as the two of them were.
"You are home early. Did you just miss me that much?" Maia asked her husband, a playful tone in her voice. The kids will be up soon, what do you want for dinner?"
Making her way into the dining room, she placed her face in the middle of the roses and took a big whiff. She loved the smell of flowers. After she had her fill of the scent, she placed the vase down in the middle of the table. Once that was placed, she made her way to the kitchen and pulled open the refrigerator. There were a couple of things in there that she didn't recognize, but she figured that Laertes had just done a bit of shopping on his way home as well. Milk, eggs, the basics. Baby food, that would make a great meal. She was sure that everyone would love a great big helping of purifies peas. Well, except for Ande. That was the thing she loved to spit up most. At least she hadn't gotten in the habit of knocking the spoon out of mommy's had. Cleaning up spilled peas was not her idea of a fun afternoon.
Closing the fridge, Maia looked back at Laertes. She smiled briefly at him before heading over to the pantry. Absolutely nothing looked good in there. What to do, what to do. While still trying to look for something good to eat, the woman's mind wandered to the rest of what she had to do that day. Laundry, children's baths, finish cleaning up the house. That and try and spend a little bit of time with the man she had vowed to spend the rest of her life with. They don't tell you about this part in pregnancy class. You are going to be so tired that even to kiss your husband will seem like a chore. It hadn't gotten quite that far, but she frequently wished that her power could be used for energy and not just fixing up scraped knees. Character Model: Kate Hudson
