Full Name: Anna Lynn D’Arn Age: 82 Gender: Female Date of Birth: February 12th Tainted? If that’s what you want to call it, yes. Ability: Vitakinesis. Anna does not seem to age because she is nearly-constantly regenerating, so in appearance she’s only in mid-twenties. She can heal from and wound short of those that would entirely destroy her brain or damage it to the point she’d be unable to use her gift. She can heal others too, though it stops short of entire regeneration (and definitely short of resurrection) because she’s not had as much practice in that area, only realizing it was possible about ten years ago. Beliefs: Anna’s belief in how/why she is how she is is slightly more superstitious than everyone elses’ – something half-formed about ghosts and radiation and curses, really. But essentially Anna doesn’t know or care why-and-how (it is what it is!), and sort of makes up her theory as she goes along, and it changes depending on the person she’s talking to about it, her mood, etc.

Eyes: Green, usually rimmed in black eyeliner and way too much mascara. Not overly big or small or anything very distinct, really. Hair: Brilliant red – not an orange-red, but like a bright burgundy tone. Very bright. Yes, it’s natural, and yes, she hates the question. It’s about shoulder length, and usually worn down. Height: 5’6” Weight: 125lbs or so. She’s a tiny little thing. Distinguishing Features: Her hair’s pretty “distinguishing” - very bright, and not exactly common. She’s also nearly always wearing way too much jewelry, random assortments of things which don’t exactly match but still somehow work together, and usually clinking and jangling all over the place. Aside from that she can pretty much blend into most crowds, though, nothing odd that sets her apart. Other: Anna has a preference for wearing dark colors (black, dark green, dark red, and gray, for the most part), and for wandering around barefoot everywhere (not like there’s any harm in it, and besides – shoes are uncomfortable!).

Likes: [<3]Shiny objects. Anna has a slight fixation on anything with reflective properties. If it’s shiny, she most likely is fond of it. [<3]Coffee! It’s like her one-true-love or something. And she makes the best coffee ever (at least in her opinion she does)… and drinks it nearly-constantly, which could seriously explain her constant hyperness. [<3]Being young. Anna’s glad she’ll never have to get old and die, because living is way too much fun! And besides that, people would be slightly worried if they saw a 80+ lady wandering around barefoot in the woods or something, right? [<3]This “new technology”, “new style” and all that. She’s a very modern old woman, probably because she’s just a child at heart. Whatever, she likes new-stuff. [<3]Music! It’s pretty much random the sort she likes, but if it’s catchy, pretty, artsy, inspiring, or in general makes her smile, she probably won’t mind it, even if she’s never heard it before. Dislikes: [</3]Decaffeinated anything. It’s just horrible, don’t even suggest it. [</3]”Coffee abuse” – anyone doing anything she deems “bad” to or with coffee. Blasphemy! [</3]Vampires! They may not be real to anyone else (or in this world of RP), but Anna’s pretty sure they are, and doesn’t like the idea. Proper repellants have been put in place in her home; crucifixes over all doorways, occasional garlic-affication of the house, etc. And she’s been known to make her coffee with Holy Water, occasionally. She’s in general very superstitious about just about everything, though – any sort of ghost, undead, whatever, she probably believes in it. [</3]Violence. It scares her in an almost childish way, despite her age and having seen enough of it to have gotten over that. The results of violence scare her less, but mostly because she can usually sometimes fix it – seeing it in the act, though, or extreme results-of, are almost traumatizing (for only long enough for her to calm down, perk back up, and get some proper coffee; nothing seems to actually permanently traumatize Anna). [</3]Death. It’s pretty much the one thing she can’t fix, not with coffee, not with her abilities, not with cheer and optimism, and that scares her. The Good Points: Anna’s a cheerful, childish person, all smiles and optimism and bouncy-gleeful joy. Even over something simple as a bit of tinfoil or something, sometimes. Easily entertained, tends to try to keep everyone in a good mood no matter what.
She’s got an innocent-naivety to her, despite her years (hell, she’s still in her “boys are icky… but kinda cute!” stage!), and so things seem simple to her, and she finds people and their weird cares-worries-paranoia silly. She’s also amazing at making coffee, if you like it strong enough to keep you hyper for like a week. She’s fairly artistic, also – mostly painting and various crafts (pottery’s fun! Lots of squishy clay!). The Bad Points: For all her cheer and hyperactive lovability, Anna is a complete ditz. If people really followed the stereotype, she’d be as blond as humanly (or Taintedly, even!) possible. Forgetful, silly, and in general just not the most reliable for important tasks or things like that. Easily distracted (anyone mentioning coffee, waving shiny things in her direction, or even something simple like sunlight on the carpet through the window, really).
She also tends to use her cheerful-happy to hide when she’s feeling less than pleased – because somehow she’s decided that Anna is not allowed to be upset unless it’s something huge and eventful and horrible. So any and all angst is ignored and replaced with glee and bouncing around. Which works, it’s probably just not the best thing ever.
Her slight paranoia about ghosts-vampires-zombies is probably another weak point – she’s superstitious to the point of possibly-crazy, though some of her superstitions aren’t in line with the traditional ones (i.e. she makes her own; can’t leave doors open after midnight on weeknights, for example. Silly things). It’s probably one of the few crazy things she’s picked up from actually being old, or maybe it’s just something entirely “Anna”. Oh, and anything she bakes is probably hazardous to your health, if it’s not burnt in the first place. You have been warned. Habits: Playing with things, in a fidgeting sort of way. She can’t (or won’t) sit still for more than five seconds. Coffee’s sort of a habit in the sense that it’s actually an addiction really, and that she definitely would go through withdrawals without it – at least mentally, even though physically she’d be fine. Mind over matter, though. Possessions/Obsessions/Other: One of Anna’s prized possessions is a silver crucifix pendant she’s nearly always wearing. It was from her mother, who got it from her mother, etc. Family heirloom and whatnot. If she’s not wearing it, it’s somewhere on her person, probably, or it’s because she doesn’t want to lose or ruin it depending on what she’s up to. She also collects coffee mugs (and has like a bajillion of them!). Obsessions – coffee, clearly. Seriously, it’s like her life in a mug! If she had a kid, she might name it after coffee of some kind, even (not literally, but she’d consider it at least). Other – I think that’s it, for now at least?

Place of Birth: Sanglignée Family: Mother (Elizabeth Millea D’Arn); Father (Robert D’Arn); older sister (Susanne “Sue” D’Arn Roshall). All of them are gone now. Sue’s daughter Lea Roshall lives somewhere in the USA, probably with kids or something by now, but Anna lost touch with the family ages ago because the family were shocked by her not-aging and mildly appalled. History: Anna was the youngest of two, born to a happy couple from America who’d honeymooned in Sanglignée and decided it was just perfect and moved there right away. She grew up there, the “wild” child (which, really, just consisted of hyperactivity and bouncing glee over any and everything). Her sister was the perfect child, the one her parents favored, but it never really bothered Anna because she was too busy having fun with whatever randomness she felt like enjoying.
She didn’t realize she had abilities of any kind for awhile, it wasn’t something she even thought about much. Thought all the people mumbling about Tainted ones were silly, or trying to scare kids. …Until, that is, she fell off the porch roof at seventeen (how she got up, she doesn’t know; it’s not like she’s very athletic in the first place!), broke her leg, and sat there mentally repeating can’t be broken childishly – and it healed before her eyes.
From there she knew something was up, something like what people kept talking about. She’d been lucky; no one had been around to see it (which was what had scared her in the first place), so her secret was safe. Over the years various small wounds would heal themselves if she willed them to, and over time, with practice, even without her having to “try”.
It wasn’t until she was about thirty-five that she realized the effects of this ability. She wasn’t aging. She only looked twenty-ish at best. Everyone just thought she was one of the lucky ones who didn’t age quickly, but she knew it wasn’t that… and it was awesome! She could be young forever, right? Forever and ever!
It was all good, but eventually it got to the point where it was noticeable. Her age was climbing, but she stayed the same, and people were starting to talk about her, calling her “one of Them”. As her parents aged, eventually died, her sister moved away (because this “small town” wasn’t good for her “modeling career”, gag). Anna sold the family home and bought a smaller place, farther from town-type areas, sticking to the woods and sort of being like a hermit. A social hermit, but still. She let them forget about her as best they could, living off the money she’d inherited from her family, only popping into town very occasionally (stocking up on coffee like crazy).
She started working at the local café, once one was established and she felt it was okay. It’s where she first realized she could heal others – a kitchen accident involving boiling water spilling, and she was panicking, unknowingly willing the burns to not be too bad, not be fatal. No one really noticed in the frenzy to get medical help over there, but she’d managed to reduce the burns a little. Not totally gone, just helped. “Fixed”.
After that she’d use whatever excuse she could to visit people in the hospital and “fix” them – just a little, not enough to be hugely attention-grabbing, but just enough to practice. People who she’d visit referred to her as a good-luck charm, nothing else, not yet. She still does this regularly, but she’s getting a little more daring with it, healing more and more, wanting to see just what she’s capable of.

RP Sample: Taken from another site I play a version of Anna on; X-Men ‘verse, but still Anna. ^^; Length is just a bit over my normal, but not by a whole lot; it's fairly typical.
This whole schedule-thing, what with the waking up in the mornings, and the sleeping at nights, and the classes and teaching and things? So not going to work. Well, they will because they have to, but if it were up to Anna? Noooo. Because mornings are clearly evil, and nighttime is clearly the best time for bouncing around the mansion, and all this sleep-at-night and waking-up-before-dawn? Ugh.
Not that she’s managed to wake up before dawn today. Which means she’s late because she’s a teacher and as such she’s supposed to be up and ready for the day by six, and then there’s the whole class-prep and stuff, and the class starts at nine..
But now it’s eight-thirty, and she’s just rolled out of bed, stumbled into the shower and into clothes and then bolted downstairs, all half-asleep and wondering over the fact that she somehow didn’t trip and fall and break her neck on the stairs because, really, she’s clumsy even when fully awake!
Whatever, though, the kitchen is safety and where the other coffee machine lurks (the one which is for public-use, rather than her own personal one because while she could make coffee up there, she’d likely fall asleep waiting for it to finish because in her room, there’s her bed, and it’s comfy and soft and mmmph thinking about this is bad, yes).
As soon as she’s inside (barefoot on the cold tile, and her shoes are nowhere to be found, but that’s okay because it’s not like she ever really wears them in class anyways... or much of anywhere, really) she’s moving for the cabinet the coffee’s kept in, starting up a pot of it as strong as possible and then hopping up onto the counter beside the coffeemaker to wait, swinging her legs off the end and trying to wake up her brain enough to ….do much of anything, because mornings are evil, and coffee is win, and she definitely needs some right about now.
Oh. And there’s someone coming in the kitchen. Hopefully they don’t want the coffeemaker – or if they do, hopefully they don’t mind that the coffee inside is like five times stronger than very-strong espresso, because, er… it is. And she’s not changing that. Not that she could, now it’s started an’ all. Well, she could, technically, but it would involve much complication and hot coffee grounds and water and coffee and ow and stuff. So she doesn’t think that’ll happen.
