Beliefs:
Joanna pretty much likes anyone she doesn’t judge people because she doesn’t like to be judged herself. As far as the whole untainted/tainted thing goes she doesn’t mind either or, because her father is tainted but her mother isn’t. She doesn’t completely understand why people seem to have such a problem with one another in her mind everyone is the same nobody should decide who is better than the other person.

Her eyes are dark blue eyes, if you were to look into them you would think you were looking right into the ocean

Her hair is of medium length, with a slight wave to it. Her hair is a soft, honey blonde that fits her complexion quite well

The one thing she does have that is distinguishing is her, personality, no matter what she is going through she always manages to smile and keep people happy. If it had to be something physical it would have to be her smile, which is always wide with excitement, or happiness.
Other:
Joanna doesn’t have many distinguishing features on her body, but her clothes are quite noticeable. She doesn’t wear clothing that is very revealing, they are usually covering up most of her body with just her arms showing. One thing she does have going for her is she is very charming in person, and she has a very warming smile.

History:
Joanna Carter was born in the small city of Elk Point, South Dakota as the only child to Anthony, and Marissa Carter. As a young child she was always so happy and carefree she didn’t have a worry in the entire world. Her parents were always so nice to her and bought her toys, while at the same time making sure she knew not to be spoiled. She was a popular girl in school, as in she made a lot of friends at her young age. Joanna was always walking around her elementary school with her little group of friends, always laughing and telling jokes. Everything changed when she turned ten years old, her mother told her something that made her very upset; she was expecting another child. As it would turn out another little girl would be born into the family, she was named Julia. Their mother seemed to like the letter J for her children’s names. As soon as Julia was old enough to walk she began to follow Joanna around everywhere and Joanna in return loved it. At first Joanna didn’t like it but she soon realized it was an awesome feeling to have someone admire you.

As life continued for the two sisters there were extremely close despite the ten year age difference. When Joanna was 17 years old she met someone named Jake who she became super close with, they ended up being best friends. From the day they met they were completely inseparable and were always seen together. One night Jake took her to a family function of his where he introduced Joanna to his cousin Stephen. Instantly the two of them clicked and they had an attraction to one another that neither one could deny. About three weeks after their first meeting he got in touch with her through Jake’s parents. He asked her out on a date and the rest was history they became inseperable, fazing out Jake. Of course Joanna felt terrible for basically forgetting about her best friend, but she was drawn in by Stephen’s charm. At this time she was just about to turn 18 years old and she couldn’t wait to start college and get her degree in nursing. Once she did start college she was loving it, and loving her life, she was very happy. When she had just turned 19 years old Stephen who was 22, asked Joanna to marry him. Thinking that this was it for her, she said yes because she believed herself to be in love with him, and for him to be the one for her.

Their first year of marriage was amazing, and she continued the six year program she was in for nursing. Slowly but surely it changed just as she was turning 20 years old she found out she was pregnant with their first child. As much as she wanted to be a mother, she didn’t want to be a mother this early in their marriage, she wanted to finish school. Stephen seemingly took control of her life, he demanded she be a stay at home mother and quit school and care for their child the way a mother should. Joanna seemed to understand that and respected his decision as she didn’t know any better. As soon as their son Tucker was born things changed even more than before his birth. Joanna wasn’t allowed to do anything without checking with Stephen first, and he made rules for her. She had to have dinner on the table at 5:30 pm when he got home from his job, the house had to be clean, and the laundry had to be done and folded the way he wanted. The first time she didn’t have dinner done right at 5:30 pm she found out what would happen. He full out backhanded her right across her with his left hand. Joanna couldn’t believe that he had actually hit her, of course he said she deserved it and it was her fault. Things basically stayed that way for the next year or so, eventually growing to him hitting her for no reason. Within the first three years of their marriage Joanna had grown scared of her husband, and a shell of her former self. One day when she was visiting her parent’s home she told them that she was again pregnant with their 2nd child.

As soon as she told Stephen he seemed happy about it and throughout her pregnancy he didn’t once hit her, saying he didn’t want to hurt the baby. When she gave birth to their 2nd child, Joanna was so excited she had a baby girl, a little girl of her own named Starla. Just like when Tucker was born, the abuse started back up within the first month of Starla’s birth. On Tucker’s 4th birthday something happened that had never happened before, Stephen hit one of the children, he hit Tucker. The guests had just left from his birthday party and he spilled some cake onto the carpet. Stephen was so angry he slapped Tucker blaming Joanna’s poor mother skills. That night was horrible he stormed out of the house and didn’t come home the rest of the night. While he was off Joanna cleaned the house and held Tucker as he cried, because he had never been hit before. Joanna then decided that night that she had to get her children away from him, and get herself away from him. She hatched a plan to start putting away some money to save up. Once a week Stephen would give her a certain amount of money for grocery shopping. Instead of using it for brand name things he wanted, she would by off brand things, the extra money she set aside. She ended up saving all the money and hiding it in a loose floorboard of her son’s bedroom.

One year later She was now 26, and her two children were five years old and three years old. She had saved up quite a bit of money and went to her parents and told them the complete truth. Joanna knew that Stephen would never, ever let her go without a fight so she planned to run away. Her parents supported her, and didn’t question her when she said she was running away with the children. They said they were just happy she was getting away and to try and call them when she got settled in her new home. She waited until Stephan was going to Chicago for a work related weekend to put her plan into action. First she took the children to her parent’s house so they could watch them while she packed. The whole process took her until Saturday morning when she finally had everything packed that she would need. The week before she had went ahead and called a real estate agent in France and he had set her up in a nice home, located in Sanglignée , France. That night she went and picked up her children from her parents house and said her goodbyes to them. Her sister was upset she was leaving but Joanna promised her that she could come visit someday when she was completely settled in. Taking her children to the airport she had all their luggage put into the checking area which was then loaded into the plane. She only brought clothes and small items that she knew they couldn’t live without, and all their important paperwork.

Loading the plane Joanna tried to not think of what Stephen was going to say when he came home to find his wife and two children missing. Her children didn’t completely understand what was happening especially Starla, Tucker only understood that their father wasn’t coming with them. Finally the arrived in France and collected their luggage, Joanna was already stressed out since the kids were tired and crying. Getting them into a cab was a challenge too, because they were cranky and deciding bratty. Finally she got them to the house and the cab driver helped her carry the bags inside since she had two small children. Once the cab was gone she looked around and sighed the house was completely empty and they would have to sleep on the ground the first night there. Within the next couple of weeks she had managed to furnish the house enough to where they felt comfortable, each one having their own room. She still hadn’t found a job yet, but she was currently searching for one. By the time she found a job they had been living there for a month already and she found a job working at a daycare, where she was able to take her children to work with her.

As Jessica and her daddy were on the swings she was laughing happily because she hardly got to go to the park with him anymore, he was always too busy to come to the park. Even though he was always busy he was never too busy to play with her though, he would come into her room and play dollies with her. Jessica loved her daddy and she had been looking forward to this day at the park for the past two days. As Aaron was pushing her she was making sure to hold on tightly so she would fall off, but as she was she looked back and saw Aaron on his phone. She thought to herself that he was just listening to something because his lips weren’t moving. Jessica was very smart for her age and she picked up on things that most six year olds didn’t pick up on. She noticed right away that after he put his phone back into his pocket he seemed more happy than before and she didn’t know why, yet.

Aaron then went and smiled down at her and began to talk, he said that he knew he said wait to her birthday but he had been thinking. She waited patiently until he would continue talking because she wanted to know what she was getting for her birthday, she was a bit spoiled, but not in the bratty way. Before her daddy could even start saying something Jessica’s mind was taken away by a car pulling up, which she sort of recognized as her daddy’s friend, and she was right. Walking out of the car was Jezebel a girl that her daddy Aaron had been talking about a lot lately. Jessica didn’t not like her, but she didn’t like her completely either yet. Aaron still hadn’t noticed she was there yet and Jessica watched Jeze set her things down. It was then that she went and told her daddy that his friend was there. As soon as she said that Aaron stopped swinging her and she could see him smiling at Jeze before he kneeled down to her. He said sweetheart that he was sorry and she might be upset with him, she knew right there that they weren’t going to be alone anymore.

He was whispering that his friend was there but that she wanted to spend time with both of them, so he invited her. Jessica wanted to scream no that she wanted it to be just the two of them, but she of course kept quiet. He then said that she brought them lunch and it looked like she brought Jessica a present. Aaron went and said the ultimate thing that made her sigh, he wanted her to make him happy and be nice and a good girl around Jeze. He also explained that he would play with her still and so would Jeze and that she loved to play tag. Jessica tried to block out what he was saying because she was trying to hold back the tears, she wanted to be a good girl but she wanted her daddy to herself. “I love you too daddy.” She smiled as he kissed her cheek and followed him over towards the blanket and Jeze, her steps slow. As they got closer Jessica had to stop her lip from quivering as Aaron hugged Jeze, and held it for a bit longer than a normal hug. He said thank you for coming and that they could have a wonderful picnic not that they had food.

She saw Jeze look down at her and say hello which Jessica didn’t want to say anything back to her, but she knew she had too. She had looked to her daddy and saw him give her a look that said speak up and be nice, and she welled up with tears again, but forced them back. “Hi, Jezebel.” She then flopped down right where she was standing and looked down at the blanket, her mood completely gone from being the happy girl chasing butterflies to being the unhappy little girl who just wanted to be alone with her daddy. Jessica couldn’t control it anymore and tried to be quiet with her sniffles, as one tear dropped from her eye and onto her leg leaving a single wet spot. Jessica then wiped her eyes and looked up knowing she had to be a good girl and make her daddy happy, she hated disappointing him. As she looked at her daddy she could see that he was even happier than when he was with her, and she knew it was because of Jeze. “Daddy I’m hungry.”
