TAGGED: Elenna Rothisé
[M] For Who Knows What Caleb Can Do Or Say
Was a Saturday night, everything was quite and also amazingly cool for the evening but nothing to keep you inside. It has been about three days to the day he has been watching his young prey closely. Studying her, keeping his distance and also marking down mentally where she goes. She was one of those easy ones to read whom was always liking to be alone. So he knew, he would be out there waiting in the shadows for her to come out where he thought she would be. No he was no mind reader but something a tad worst and if crossed, could be your last. Earlier he had been begging, pleading, no begging for Annabelle to just be his but again, rejection. No matter how hard he tried with the girl she seemed to always decline his proposal of being his girlfriend or flat out marrying him. Frustrating if anyone could really ask him but he did not talk to many on his personal life.
That was clear from his mind since it has been some hours since his disappointment again and he set out to the night. Was dressed head to toe in black, black jeans, black long sleeved shirt under a long black normal trench coat about knee length, black gloves and black boots to be able to work in the snow. He left hours before he felt the girl might emerge from her home and stalked in the darkness at the Le Panier. He was leaned against one of the trees in the distance kind of blended in. Of course to pass the time he pulled out a cigarette so he can smoke as he waited. The smoke to his lips he went lit the end of his cigarette then tossed the match away in the snow. Pushing the pack into his pocket inside his coat he leaned against the tree again. "Come out wherever you are little one." He whispered off then let his ice cold blue eyes smooth the surroundings. Sure he knew she was mighty young and not be suitable for what he wishes.
He can try though since it did not harm to get anyone he wanted early in their age and force them to train their powers faster. After all he had his ways of persuasion which most did not resist. Those who did mostly ended up in a mental hospital screaming like a mad person. Caleb hasn't killed anyone, yet, but he has harmed a lot of people namely one his family. He did not care they suffered, they made him suffer, so they deserved to suffer the rest of their lives. Taking a deep breath of the smoke in his lungs he looked around seeing no movement which slowly disappointment again. If this girl did not show up he would be pissed off and maybe lash on someone. Course not after the girl since he needed her for something, something much more then harming, which he hoped she would see his way. If not, he was sure to just turn around and go about his own business since after all he wasn't so cruel or so it seemed.

Elenna heard the sound of echoing footsteps and laughter as her parents left the house. She sighed, brushing her hair off her face as she grabbed the bag containing all her painting equipment. Gracefully getting up out of the chair she had been sitting in, she made her way through the maze of hallways until she came to her front door. Knowing that her parents would not be home until at least the next morning, Elenna stepped out into the night, the cold air making her shiver. She had always liked the cold, ever since a young age, but she did not know why.
Walking down the street in a simple knee length skirt and cardigan, Elenna looked around, taking in her surroundings. Nobody was ever out this time of night, and for that she was grateful. What would they think of a child walking the streets at this hour? Clutching her bag tightly, Elenna hurried along the path, headed towards Le Panier. She had been there a few nights ago, to paint the scenery and to explore and was looking forward to visiting again.
As she walked, she thought about the Tainted. Was it possible that she possessed powers like that? Her parents had never spoken of it, but then, they had never spoken of anything at all to her. Lately though, when she had accidentally bumped someone, she had been seeing blinding flashes of color, and a cacophony of voices.
Dismissing those thoughts from her mind, Elenna realized that she had walked into the part of the area that had no street lamps. After all, Le Panier was an old area of town. Elenna clenched her fist, she hated having a fear of the dark, but it wasn't something you could simply just wish away. Ducking under a nearby tree, Elenna jumped back as she almost ran into a man leaning against a trunk, cigarette in hand. "Oh, s-s-sorry" she stuttered, almost mesmerized by the mans piercing blue eyes. Thinking that she must not have noticed him as he was dressed entirely in black Elenna took a step back, and was about to turn around to find another part of town when the man spoke.

Checking his watch again he went pursed his lips off to one side of his face since he was getting disappointed. With a roll of his eyes he sighed took a drag of his cigarette then he looked down at the snow. He hated winter, he hated cold, but he did like the fact of what winter did for him. Benefits to all those poor innocent women who wanted to warm up someway, gullible women. He was not particularly paying attention when the figure came out into the playing field. In fact he was just not paying attention he was lost in thought and a little ticked off. Why? Annabelle loved him, he was so sure of it, why was she always that way to him. He hated games also hating it when things were difficult which is why he did chase after all the easy girls, secretly. He had to get his kicks elsewhere if Anna was not going to help him out there. Soon a sound made him look up to see the young girl walking around a little late on cue.
Checking his watch again he pursed his lips but did not really care he had the night to play around and he shall. He already had one person in recruits on his side which was a pyro by the name of Dean Harvey. Others he had approached just turned him down instantly with a laugh in his face. Oh they shall see and be quite sorry, they shall all see who shall have the last laugh when he is taking over the scene. Which is why he was here tonight was to maybe persist this girl into his ways. Course she was young but most teenagers were stupid and do anything to fit in. So he thought to give it a go with it also make some little white lies and such. He can always lie to her about helping her with her powers which wouldn't be so much a lie, work her powers for the bad. As she drew close his eyes slowly skimmed the features of the girl. She was in his age range of females he chased so also the charm factor would be able to work here. This one kind of looked like she never had a crush or boyfriend in her lifetime, those were easy to manipulate.
He entered her mind to see a fear which darkness came to him first so he thought to test it out a little. He amplified her fear so much she kind of jumped scared of it and he smirked slowly since she backed into him. He was sure she had not noticed him at all for he was smoothly hidden in the shadows. His head tilted to the side like a curious dog as his was leaned against the tree. He put the smoke to his lips and took a finishing drag and heard her apologized. All he did was look at her then he flicked his cigarette off to the side and blew the smoke out of his nose slowly. Leaning off the tree he put his hands into the front of his pockets then smirked stood there. "So you are just going to run into me and run off? Why that is quite rude. Not even a name to share?" He messed with her mind again but he was doing the opposite. Slowly making the fear of her being in the dark slowly go away so it was dormant and normal. A smile curved on his lip which did not mark anything sinister though he was thinking it. But his smile was more of a charming normal smile which could also seem quite friendly.

She watched the man warily as he stared at her, flicking his cigarette to the ground. He leaned back on the tree, hands in pockets and smirked. Elenna's heart was racing, and not in a good way. What if she got hurt? Although, she supposed nobody would mind, or even notice. Clutching her bag protectively to her chest, she looked at him. He was dressed entirely in black, and the nights half-light had given his face a ghostly appearance. Slowly taking small steps back, inch by inch, she hoped the man would not notice her futile attempts at trying to escape.
She stared into the mans eyes. They were a cold blue, like ice. She would find no warmth or friendship there. As she was about to skitter off like a scared rabbit, he spoke. As he did, Elenna felt a weight lift off her chest, as if she was suddenly less scared of her surroundings. The darkness no longer seemed to be creeping up on her, a complete absence of light. Now, it seemed, there was plenty. As he spoke, the man smiled. It seemed to brighten up his entire face. He seemed less scary, less dark now.
Thinking that she may have judged this man too quickly, Elenna reconsidered her first opinion of him. After all, wasn't it innocent until proven guilty? I won't run, but I won't tell him my name, she compromised, silently. She smiled softly at the man, Shaking her head quickly at the mention of telling him her name. She stayed where she was, however. A silent invitation for the man to continue speaking.

Sure he was intimidating but he was not trying to scare her off since after all he was trying to influence her onto his side. Which was not a clan of good friendly people with good goals but she did not know that one. He stepped forward as she stepped back which he knew he was scaring her just a little. After all she was a young girl and he was an older man, not much older, but still older. Also they were along in a dark place which this can not be taken as a likely situation. No his intentions were nothing sexual, he wasn't interested in that, if she was older then maybe but not this young. Flirting he could do but only if he needed to charm the girl to get her to his side. Since he did remember as he said before that she looked like she never been in any form of relationships.
Little girls did some silly things when they thought they were in love or with someone who cared. Taking her fear away was one way of him to get her to calm down a little which some tension seemed to leave from her. She didn't know what it was but he did not say a word for he did not want to spoil the surprise. She did not want to tell him her name so he went nodded his head slowly. "I see." He remarked slowly in like a whispering tone of voice and then put his hands behind his back instead. Slowly he walked towards her and kept looking down at her and then introduced himself. "I'm Caleb Beckett." He looked her over to see any waver of comfort but did not see any so he continued to speak.
"I will not hurt you if that is what your afraid of. I actually wish to talk to you." He said to her then he moved his hands again from his back to his front pockets then smirked. He walked up close to her now off guard then grabbed her by the wrist. Nothing to her hurt at all though it might of startled her but he was not trying to do that. He was just giving her a small taste of her own powers if they did kick in at all. He bend down to her level then whispered into her ear in a kind of chilling tone of voice but this was his normal tone. "I know what you are and what you can do." If she was able to collect his thoughts or memories then she would of only picked up his one thought which was her name, 'Elenna Rothisé.'
Or if she did dig enough there was a memory which he couldn't control the last memory of course. Which his last memory was him speaking to Annabelle Grey, pleading with her to marry him. She declined but he still persisted to ask her until she left his home. With enough taste of her own power from him he released her wrist then he backed off slowly. His eyes kept on her making sure she did not dash off and run because if so. He'd have to kick in his powers quickly to stop her and he would have a word with her. Caleb did not even get to the part of why he wanted her and why he knew her. He hoped maybe what he said in his head as a thought or what he said in her ear would intrigue her to stay around till he was finished.

Elenna lifted her eyes off her feet to look at the man. She met his glance and suddenly realized that he was a lot closer than he had been before. He stepped forward, and she matched it, taking another step backwards. He spoke, almost so softly that she couldn't hear him. She leaned forward to try and catch what he was saying. He told her his name, and how he wished to talk to her. To me? Elenna thought. What qualities could I possibly posses to make him want to talk to me? Lost in her own thoughts, Elenna was easy prey. The man suddenly lurched forward, grabbing her wrist.
All at once, she was bombarded by images and sounds. She heard her name being said, softly, and something about an Anabelle and marriage. Farr off in the distance, she heard the man speak. The man let go of her wrist and stepped back, his eyes still on her. Dropping her bag, Elenna wavered, almost falling to the ground. Blinking quickly, Elenna found her balance and stared at the man, A questioning look in her eyes. Finding her voice, Elenna stuttered. "W-w-what am I?" she asked quietly, "A-and, what are y-you?"
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Elenna suddenly realized where she was. She was definitely intrigued, but not stupid. It would be completely foolish to try and run, she knew that, But how much worse would it be if she stayed? Glancing at the man, who was looking at her as if he was just about to speak, Elenna pushed past him and tried to run for the safety of the trees, bag forgotten. She was weak and tired from the earlier visions, but knew that if she did not at least try to run now, she wouldn't be any better off in the future. She could not help but think though, that this man may know something about her, and what had been happening to her lately, and she did want to find out.

Oh he knew what he was doing when he grabbed onto her wrist and knew she was being flooded but with what he did not know. Actually he had no idea she got into his mind about Annabelle. He would of been a little mad but he was sure she would not of been able to control her abilities anyways. When he let go she looked a little tired or drained which he smirked off a little. He backed off to look down at her to see what she was going to do or say. Her bag dropped to the ground which she nearly went to the ground as well but didn't. First words were a quite stutter which he smirked slowly then he went spoke out to her in a whisper so she'd only hear. Like they were being watched or like someone somewhere was going to over hear him.
"You are tainted." Which soon she asked the second question which he smiled even more. "I am tainted. We are both alike. Which is why I wished to speak to you." He said to her which he did notice she looked quite scared of him and looked as if she was going to run. He was prepared for it which he looked at her some more which she was silence now and possibly debating an escape. All he did was stand there letting her decide what she was going to do which she choose the worst choice. As soon as she began to run he went looked around watched her run away. "Bad puppy." He whispered then he went forced himself into her mind with his own mind. Soon the hallucination came out of her head to real life which she would think was real life. He trapped her on a little island which was surrounded by roaring ocean water.
He pushed the illusion full blown so the island was risen up a little and the water crashed on the sides of the island sides. He had his own little pathway leading to her which he began to walk hastily to her with speed. As soon as he was all caught up to where she should of stopped because there was a ledge and below was roaring ocean. Which he had a mean smirk on his face now for he was not going to let the illusion up for a long time till he was done. As well as he amplified her fear to be even more scared of the ocean then she would of been on a normal basis. "So shall you listen to me now or shall I push you off the ledge? I'm sure a nice little swim would cool you off from your bright ideas of just rudely running away before I have my words into you." He walked closer then he crossed his arms across his chest.
He was a little frustrated and also a little annoyed having to slightly chase after her just to have a talk. "Now that I have you attention. As I was saying before I know what you are and wish to help you out. I know how it feels to be tainted and unwanted in this world. I can change that." He lowered the amplified fear in her head just a little lower to calm her down. With his smirk turning into a smile he went unfolded his arms from his chest. "I wish to help you reach your full potential." He said to her then he lowered the fear down some more so she would not be so scared of the surroundings. Since he was again trying to get her to see his way but of course the powers he had were not the kind to last long and not for this big of an illusion. He kept concentrating but he knew if anymore he wouldn't be able to hold it, but for now he did hold up the illusion strong.

She knew she shouldn't have run, It was a futile attempt at trying to escape. She hadn't traveled more than a few feet when she came to a sudden halt. As if from nowhere, a wall of water came crashing down in front of her. She turned, slowly, realizing that there was no escape from the raging ocean that had so suddenly appeared. Trembling, she noticed that the water was slowly rising, almost engulfing the small patch of land she was on. She drew back, Shaking, so scared she could hardly breathe. As the island rose too, creating an almost vertical cliff face separating her from the sea.
Suddenly, a pathway appeared, almost as if somebody had thought it into existence. The man walked quickly along the path, coming to stop just in front of Elenna. He smirked at her, and all of a sudden there was a roaring in her ears as if the sound of the ocean had just been amplified. Caleb turned to her, a mean smile on his face, and threatened to push her off the narrow ledge for running away. Elenna shook her head, falling to her knees with her hands over her ears, incoherently babbling something about stopping the sea.
Her fear subsided slightly, and for some reason, Elenna, who was still on her knees started to think about what she had seen and heard. Who was Anabelle? and what did she have to do with marriage? And how did this stranger know her name? She heard the man speak again, and looked up at him. She was scared of him, and did not trust him at all, but what he had said had caught her attention. "U-unwanted? You c-could make them want m-me?" she asked Caleb, referring to her parents. Perhaps unknowingly, he had hit a soft spot. Deciding that she wasn't going to get out of this situation any time soon, and as she was trying to take her mind off the raging sea below her, Elenna continued her questions. "W-who's Anabelle?" "A-and what c-could you be able to t-teach me?" she stuttered, looking up at him questioningly. After all, he had said they were the same, and perhaps on some base level they were. She glanced back towards the open sea behind her, and gulped.

This was easier then spitting in someones food when they pissed you off at some dinner party. His eyes were cold now looked down at her huddled on the ground in some pathetic ball form. She was scared out of her mind which he knew it since he was in her mind making this all come out. All her fault this was happening but like she would know he is in her mind, no one knew. She was muttering something so he decided to turn the fear factor down a little so he could talk to her at least. Also so she would listen to him properly to what he had to say for it was important. He spoke to her which she seemed to listen but bit listen at the same time. But he guessed he struck a cord because her head pipped up to him and she asked him something. All he did was change his nasty smile to one more compassionate which he nodded slowly.
"I can make them want you. I can make them pay attention to you. If that is one desire you wish in this world I can make it happen." His tone of voice was confident since he was not lying to her. He could make her parents like her, he thought that is what she meant, which he took into consideration. He'd just track her parents down and force them into to take care of Elenna better. Also torture them a bit with their worst fear which would more then likely be the death of their only child. No matter how much a child is unwanted or so it seems they would never want real harm to their children, unless they were truly evil. When she seemed to want his trust again he went slowly down to her level. He kneel down onto his own knees in front of her which he still was a tall man. With a smile on his face he seemed less sinister now then he had a moment ago. He knew he had her attention now which he was going to try and regain the trust.
Sure he had interested her since he knew her name which he was sure she gotten that and did not know she gotten farther then that. A personal memory which should not of been shared and was obvious he didn't like it. When she asked him about Annabelle his eyes looked at her in some staring matter. Then he let out a long huff then looked away pissed off but he contained himself. No he did not lash he was just angry at the moment he had re-lived again in his mind. But that look only lasted a moment and he turned his head back to her looked at her. He calmly responded in a tone that kind of sounded like 'none of your fucking business' but with nicer words. "Nevermind about Annabelle, she is not important." He said even though that was far from the truth which like she'd need to know at all. Love of his life, now that was secret, he did not need to share his plans of marriage to Annabelle to some little girl.
"What is more important is what I can do for you. I can help you control your powers and make them grow. You would be around people who are like you and be willing to teach you. With proper training you'd be able to control your power filly by the time you turn 18 years old. Instead of learning on your own and not being able to control it until you turn 28 years old. Which age sounds better for you?" He put on a smile to try to look more friendly and convincing. Soon the sound of the sea stopped for it was gone and they were just kneel in the snow. "I already promised I am not going to hurt you. I wish to help you. Such a beautiful girl like yourself deserves to have some light in her life after all." Did he dare? Yes he did dare, he let out the flirting little compliment then moved his hand to move her hair from her face. Weapon number one was his power and weapon number two for females was his charm, so he thought to use it to persuade even more.
