Full Name: Aubrey Leveque Age: 21 Gender: Female Date of Birth: 22 May 1987 Tainted? No Ability: N/A Beliefs: Far from being credulous, Aubrey won't believe in anything until she has seen proof. The cautious whispers around the village about 'The Tainted' do nothing but make her laugh; she doesn't understand how people can believe in such ridiculous ideas. It infuriates her to see people making such a fuss and treating people differently - she strongly encourages the well known proverb: 'Don't judge a book by its cover' Canon? No

Eyes: Her eyes are commonly a deep brown; radiating her warmth and amiability. However, when she feels angry or melancholy, one will notice her eyes alter slightly to a lighter brown, symbolising her inner child. Hair: Aubrey favours her strawberry blonde hair, despite being ostracised for it as a child. It reaches just past her shoulders and frames her face perfectly. During her experimental teenage phase, Darcia dyed her hair blonde just to see the response her peers gave. The remnants of this 'catastrophe' can sometimes be noticeable, especially when exposed to sunlight. Height: 5'5" Weight: 111lbs Distinguishing Features: her eyes are perhaps her most striking feature; inviting people into her mind, practically an open door to her thoughts. However, There's nothing considerably 'distinguishing' about Aubrey; she is, to an extent, quite plain and can easily blend in with others. Other: On first glance, Aubrey appears to be delicate and fragile, her beauty hidden by the scars of her past. Underneath it all, however, Aubrey is beautiful; her eyes are bright and friendly and her confidence knows no limits. It takes a truly deserving person to get to know this warmer side of her, but it undoubtedly exists. She's not a fan of excessive make-up, preferring to remain natural and fresh; but this doesn't stop her from wearing mascara or a bit of eyeliner every so often. Well, she is a woman after all...
Her style varies from day to day, although, she prefers to keep things neutral by wearing bland colours such as grey or black. She hates drawing attention to herself, connotating insecurities with her appearance. More often than not she can be found wearing a simple white summer dress and a cardigan for good measure.

Likes: Music (Prefers Acoustic) Reading (Her favourite book is Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice') Comfortable silences The rain Pacifism Cigarettes
Dislikes: Arrogance Conflict Laziness Ridiculous rumours Gullible people Ignorance
The Good Points: She has a natural charm about her and uses this to her advantage during a conflict. Aubrey can easily diffuse any troubled situation by negotiating with the hostile party or simply by batting her eyelashes. Not one to let others remain distressed, Aubrey will try her best to help anyone in need, whether it gets her in trouble or not.
The Bad Points: Aubrey is extremely stubborn and won't give in until she gets her way. In certain circumstances this is not a bad thing, but she often finds herself in awkward situations that she would otherwise try to avoid. She has a distinct way of making excuses to avoid those awkward situations, but these excuses turn into lies, which then escalate and put her in more trouble than she need be.
Habits: When she was 17, her father would chastise her for smoking and warn her of the effects. After the death of her father, oddly enough, she began to smoke more, hearing her father's biting words in her mind; she felt this was the closest way of keeping a connection with him. Now, she's addicted to the nicotine and finds it extremely difficult to smoke less than 6 a day. Possessions/Obsessions/Other: She owns a ring that belonged to her ancestors; passed down from generation to generation. Nothing fancy, it's merely a gold band with the words 'Servo Vestri Pectus Pectoris. Subsisto Fidelis' engraved on it, meaning 'Protect Your Heart. Stay Faithful'. Aubrey was given this ring for her 14th birthday but she never understood what it meant. Her grandmother had always said that when the time came, she would know exactly what to do, but this left Aubrey even more confused - yet determined. When she wasn't tending to her father, or reading, Audrey would be at the library researching the aphorism but she still had no idea what she was looking for. Deciding to give up and listen to her grandmother's words, Aubrey wears it proudly on the middle finger of her left hand.
The only other possession that she truly values is her old, black Mini Cooper - It was originally her father's but he passed it on to her when he became bed-ridden. She heavily depended on it when she was caring for her father, and it will always be of great importance to her, though just a car. To be fair, it may be old and starting to rust slightly, but it's been a faithful car to her over the years and hasn't needed any major repair work - she's extremely grateful to her father for bestowing her with it.

Place of Birth: Suburbs of Paris, France. Family: Father: Adrien Leveque [Deceased] Mother: Clarette Leveque [Deceased] History: Born and raised in Paris in 1987, Aubrey Leveque was the daughter of an aspiring artist who spent most of his life outside in the street, painting the spectacular city and the passers by. Her mother had died at child birth so Darcia never had the conventional childhood. She had to take on the role of caring for her father when she was just 9 years old, cooking and cleaning when she wasn't at school. Because her father was constantly at work, trying to earn money to survive, Aubrey was left at home to do as she pleased. At school, she didn't have many friends due to her lack of social skills and pathetically, the colour of her hair. So her favourite past time was to sit by the window and read her battered old copy of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. When she was 15, her father became seriously ill and more dependent on her; forcing her to give up on her education and become his full time carer. Whilst she loyally sat at her father's bedside, he would sometimes (when conscious) tell her tales of his early life in a place called Sanglignée and it's peculiar inhabitants. Curious, Aubrey vowed that she would one day visit, much to her father's dismay; he didn't want her to visit Sanglignée in fear of her stumbling upon a 'Tainted' one.
With her father's tales buzzing through her mind, curiosity overwhelmed her and she began to research about Sanglignée. Her results were far from what she had expected, or wanted, but it was through knowing that something mysterious was occurring there, that she had to visit. Aubrey's one dear friend, Darcia, had advised her against leaving Paris, claiming that Sanglignée was just a false hope on her behalf. This sparked an argument between the friends - Aubrey hasn't heard from Darcia ever since. It deeply hurt Aubrey to know her loved ones had no faith in her and she began to doubt if even she had faith in herself.
On her 18th Birthday, Aubrey's father passed away, leaving her with nothing but his paintings and a small amount of money. At a loss, Aubrey was confused and alone, not knowing what to do - where to go. She continued to live in her family home in the suburbs of Paris until she was 20, and it was then that a serious incident, which she would care to forget, caused her to gain a new perspective on her life. Armed with the stories of Sanlignée, she sold her father's paintings and used the money to fund her move to the small town. She knew that her father was adamant that she shouldn't go, but she simply couldn't ignore the mystery shrouding the idyllic little village.

It was getting darker now, and the moon was slowly climbing to it's usual position in the sky. There were no stars tonight, no wishes to be made that hadn't already. All Aubrey wanted to do, was to go home and crawl into bed - she hadn't slept properly for days. The small florist she worked at had a wedding order for the following week and this required her to work extra hours. Although she lived more than half an hour away from her work, Aubrey insisted on walking every morning; she had said it gave her an excuse to clear her head and gain perspective.
It was a Friday night and she'd just left the florist after spending an hour arranging the centrepieces for the wedding reception. She hadn't realised the time until she left and noticed the street lamps had started to light. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed two men, ambling behind her and she undoubtedly knew they were innebriated. She could hear them talking between themselves; their voices quiet one moment, booming the next. Not wanting to be the object of their attention, Aubrey casually crossed the road, pulling up the collar on her jumper. "What's wrong Baby," One of the men shouted to her. "Afraid of the big, bad wolves?"
She didn't bother to look behind her, knowing instantly that they were talking to her. Suddenly, the two men started laughing loudly and she could hear them crossing the road. Aubrey could hear her footsteps quicken and her breath become erratic, but she didn't dare look back. One of the men began singing loudly and trying to get her attention, but Aubrey could only try and block out their irritating voices. Though her head did not move, her eyes darted around the street, desperately seeking a passer by to plead with them - but nobody was around.
Relax, Aubrey. You're being stupid; they're just being stupidly friendly. Ignore them and you'll be fine...You're almost home.
Suddenly, the singing stopped and all was silent behind her. She turned her head around to locate the drunken idiots, but they weren't there. Her eyes flickered to every car parked along the side of the road, hoping they were seated inside. Shaking her head vigorously, Aubrey turned to face forward; only to be greeted by two burly, 30-something men blocking her path. "Don't be frightened, sweetheart...We won't hurt you. We just want to talk!"
A plump, balding man wearing a leather jacket moved closer to her, extending his arm. Aubrey pushed it away and turned to run, but was grabbed around the waist, roughly. Her mind was overflowing with pessimistic thoughts as she tried to release a scream, but it was no use. Silence. The only thing she could do was close her eyes tightly and hope they would leave her alone, or better yet, someone would rescue her. After ten minutes of being dragged along the pavement, it was clear to Aubrey that no-one was coming to save her, and worse still, these men were possibly going to hurt her. In one quick movement, she began thrashing her arms around in a feeble attempt to break free from the iron grip this monster had on her.
"Don't move. We'll make this as painless as possible; nobody needs to get hurt." The other man whispered gruffly into her ear; the bitter scent of alcohol wafting from his breath. Aubrey's panic caused a convulsion of sobs and she couldn't regain her composure when the men ordered her to be quiet. It was then, in the very end of a desolate, grubby alleyway, that Aubrey lost all consciousness and the darkness began to consume her...
