open; to anyone who'd know jayden
It was one of those days you'd wish to just curl up and want to be alone. It was one of those days you'd want to shut the door on your life and rudely tell everyone to just go away and leave you alone. But unfortunately, one of those days is impossible to have when your life keeps demanding you undivided, sole attention.
Of course, Jayden was one of those people who couldn't do any of that.
He had responsibilities. For his job, for his sister, for his school life, and maybe to the tiny personal life he managed to have between all of this chaos. But he had to take the day off to himself. If he didn't, he'd probably just go bonkers and say and do nonsensical stuff that probably would ruin his life that he was trying to make okay in the first place.
So he went away.
It was an early Saturday morning, he had no classes that day so he took the day off from work. His sister is off doing whatever she does behind his back and he turned off his cellphone and left it in his car. He had purposely wasted his gas to drive all the way to Marseille just to get away from San. He figured that he was way less likely to run into someone he knew out in Marseille rather than in San. It seemed like even in the quiet forests surrounding some parts of San, he'd run into someone he knew. He really didn't want that, he was dying for solitude.
It was breezy and a little chilly, but it didn't bother him. He wore a navy blue sweater and he was perfectly content in it. He sat on a park bench facing the ocean side just staring out aimlessly, not looking at anything in particular. There were a couple people out for their morning jogs, they paid no attention to him of course. He was just some idle stranger that didn't know. He possibly look like he was sleeping, his shaggy hair a complete mess and also in his face. Even if they comment, Jayden would hear none of them, he had his ears distracted with his iPod with him playing his 'Quiet Time' Playlist.
Jayden's seemingly perfect day alone was looking quite perfect in his opinion. Though he knew all too well that nothing was ever perfect in life. Every single time he takes one of these days, someone always manages to find him. Sometimes it's his sister, sometimes it's a friend of his. It was like fate didn't want him to be alone, ever. Someone always had to come back and snap him back to reality. He couldn't just sit around and just listen to music like he did when he was a teenager. Things were so different from then and today. Someone else was watching Claire, someone else was putting food on the table, someone else was taking care of him and Claire.
"Grandma and Grandpa..." He murmured quietly under his breath.
He sighed closing his eyes at the thought of them. It was a depressing thought, but flashes of happy memories flooding his thoughts. Grandpa teaching Claire and him how to ride a bike, Grandpa teaching him to drive, Grandma teaching him how to make apple pie. A quick flash to the day he realized his ability and he just as quickly threw the thought of his mind.
A quiet sigh escaped his lips again, it was that bad feeling he couldn't shake. He just seemed to know, a familiar face was going to rob his perfect day away from his world.
